Hello Everybody,

Lent IV
Joshua 5:9-12Psalm 322 Corinthians 5:16-21Luke 15:1-3, 11b-32

The Prodigal

Oh such a good story to connect with music. Here we go.
Homecoming--leaving--returning...

Gathering: Prayer of Peace by David Haas

Opening: Prodigal Daughter by Pearl and The Beard
Sweet new find.

Gospel: Home by Dave Grohl
Love this one. We've done it once before--solo with piano accompaniment. Simple and beautiful.

Offertory: The Prodigal Son by Rev. Wilkins
And as these things go--when one of our guitarists (we are lucky enough to have at least 5 guitarists on any given Sunday) asked me if Prodigal Son (the Rev. Wilkins/Rolling Stones version) would work on a Sunday morning, as he's been messing around with it, I say YES it will and come to find out it that the Luke reading is right around the corner. Serendipity! Great things can happen when you say yes.

Communion: Instrumental

After Communion: Coming Home To Me by Patty Griffin
Can you tell I'm a Patty Griffin fan?

Closer: Amazing Grace
All star version from 1976. So good. Willie is in FINE voice.
