Amazing Grace
Readings
Job 38:1-7, (34-41)
Psalm 104:1-9, 25, 37b
Hebrews 5:1-10
Mark 10:35-45
Theme: Grace and Blessing
Not really pushing the envelope this week. We are doing a few favorites though.
This is our annual parish retreat weekend and our congregation is in two places this Sunday.
The service at the retreat and at Grace will include one of our favorites, Amazing Grace, sung to The House of the Rising Sun tune.
Gathering: Won’t You Let Me Be Your Servant
Offertory: City Called Heaven (solo)
After Communion: Bless the Lord My Soul
We are lucky to have many fine musicians in our music circle. Our instrumentation varies and includes cello, dulcimer, hammond C3, guitar, bass guitar, concertina, flute and piano. These Taizé pieces are beautiful when arranged with descant and counter melodies using different instruments.
